- Speedier frontside bus — up to 1.35GHz on each processor
- 512MB of memory standard
- Higher-performance graphics cards with twice the video memory
- Larger capacity hard drives — up to 800GB Serial ATA
- A 16X double-layer SuperDrive (DVD+R DL, DVD±R/CD-RW) that burns up to 8.5GB on double-layer DVD+R media

64 Bits of Power
The 64-bit PowerPC G5 processor combines with Mac OS X Tiger to
deliver breakthrough performance for today’s most demanding
applications. You can install up to 8GB of main memory — twice as
much as a typical PC. Furthermore, applications in Tiger can use
hardware-accelerated math functions that increase performance for
everything from complex scientific calculations to high-end video
and audio projects.
.

High-Performance Graphics
Every Power Mac G5 boasts a dedicated AGP 8X graphics slot and a
choice of standard and premium graphics cards from ATI and NVIDIA.
These powerful cards take full advantage of the latest graphics
technologies built into Mac OS X Tiger such as Core Image and Core
Video. And all cards support dual displays, extended desktop, video
mirroring and TV-out.
Expansion and I/O
The Power Mac G5 offers plenty of room to expand as your
requirements change. You have the option of three 64-bit PCI-X slots
at up to 133MHz. You can also add a second internal hard drive and
up to 8GB of RAM, plus a variety of external peripherals over
FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0. You also get Gigabit Ethernet plus
both optical digital and analog audio input and output jacks.
Quiet Operation
The Power Mac G5’s enclosure houses four discrete thermal zones to
compartmentalize the primary heat-producing components. Fans in the
zones spin at very low speeds, creating an environment that
minimizes distraction. Dual 2.7GHz systems also include an
innovative closed-loop liquid cooling system that draws away heat
quietly and efficiently.
